It serves the needs of students, dental educators and the dental professions through its repository of learning materials coupled with the functionality of its learning platform which can be customised to meet the requirements of all its users.

A Clinical Logbook module is also in the process of being developed.
The key component parts to UDENTE are:
- a suite of integrated applications
- a digital repository of learning materials
- a Virtual Learning environment (or if you wish direct links to your institution's existing VLE / LMS can be set up).
However it offers a flexible approach to securing all or part elements of its services.
Moreover, UDENTE offers individual schools, Universities and organisations to contribute and share on a global stage the highest quality provision of dental education.
Sharing knowledge and innovation
I believe UDENTE is now set to become an integral part of delivering an up-to-date dental curriculum. It allows my faculty, as well as other dental schools in Italy, to share knowledge and technology with the international community of dental educators. As chief Dental Officer of Italy, I will encourage all dental schools in Italy to use the world's first virtual dental school as a key component to delivering their curriculum.
