Leading dental experts that have experienced UDENTE, have the following to say:
‘UDENTE is an innovative solution for the 21st Century. It will create a collaborative flexible learning environment that will enable faculty to adapt, communicate and embrace the opportunities that the digital era provides. In facing such a future together, local and global outcomes can be measured and shared for the benefit of dental healthcare worldwide.
"Our recent experience at Adelaide through a number of successful international collaborations reinforces the value and importance of this work. Participation is a very positive exercise and benefits accrue not only to the recipients of support but also to the providers. Our Education Development and Innovation Unit, www.health.adelaide.edu.au/hedi is looking forward to a successful collaboration with UDENTE.”
Prof. Johann de Vries, Dean, School of Dentistry Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Adelaide, Australia
"I believe UDENTE is now set to become an integral part of delivering an up-to-date dental curriculum. It allows my faculty, as well as other dental schools in Italy, to share knowledge and technology with the international community of dental educators. As Chief Dental Officer of Italy, I will encourage all dental schools in Italy to use the world’s first virtual dental school as a key component to delivering their curriculum."
Prof. Corrado Paganelli, Dean of Dental School, University of Brescia, Italy: Chief Dental Officer, Italy
"Having to cope with staff shortages in our dental school on the island of Malta, we will benefit considerably from the advantages of being connected to UDENTE. UDENTE, the new virtual dental school will enable us to keep abreast of the latest developments in dental education as well as providing our students with the most advanced learning materials. Delivering the most up to date dental education through UDENTE will also bring us closer to schools that are reputed to be the best at an international level.”
Dr. Simon Camilleri, Dean of the Faculty of Dental Surgery, University of Malta
UDENTE is a unique opportunity to offer our students access to one of the best available contemporary dental curricula. The Institute of clinical dentistry at the University of Tromsø is the northern-most dental school in the world. We have access to all of the modern information and communication technologies. However, access to good teaching materials in all subjects is not always available locally. The UDENTE project provides an internationally oriented, quality assured dental curriculum that our students will enjoy. It will also be very useful in providing an important, internationally recognized basis for the bench-marking of our own curriculum.
Professor Arne Hensten, Institute of Clinical Dentistry, Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Tromsø
“Now that so much time, money and intellectual expertise has been invested in delivering the world’s first virtual dental school, I would like to see as many schools across the world benefit from it. The potential is enormous for collaborative learning by sharing knowledge and expertise in these new exciting learning environments. These new developments are designed to enhance the face-to-face experience of students at the chairside in a blended and media rich approach. They also allow us to record activities such as educational resource usage in a detailed way, and to track student progress whilst maintaining security and control by the teaching institution. Educational research of these new domains will ensure that future developments are based on evidence of positive educational impact.”
Professor Patricia Reynolds, King’s College London
